Ventures Project Lead

About Metabolic
Metabolic’s mission is to transition the global economy to a fundamentally sustainable state. We advise governments, businesses, and NGOs on how to adapt to a fast-changing global context, and conduct applied research to further key approaches and technologies. We also build new ventures and non-profit organizations that remove critical barriers and lead to transformational change.

Metabolic Ventures, a non-profit foundation within the Metabolic ecosystem, is designed to scale systemic solutions to global challenges using ventures as a vehicle for transformation. In service of our mission, we do two main things: 1) Build new ventures (and venture studios) that have the potential to affect systems change, and 2) Create tools and approaches that make it easier for others to build more systemic ventures.

Metabolic Ventures is the newest addition to the Metabolic Ecosystem and currently has a small team of just two full-time staff. We are now looking to bring on a third person who can complement our existing team.

About the Role
In an effort to innovate our approach to systemic venture building and to do so cost effectively, we’ve been taking on interesting projects that enable us to deploy and continue deepening our thinking around the topic.
The position of Project Lead involves managing some of these bigger projects and helping the team execute on them. These projects typically involve:
  • Developing new methods, resources and frameworks to enable actors in the venture ecosystem to drive systemic change
  • Developing key stakeholder relationships, building networks and communities and working collaboratively with close partners
  • Conducting great research into societal challenges and new models to address them
  • Innovating upon business models, intellectual property, and governance approaches
Your role would be as a key point person within these projects, organizing the team’s work, and executing on some key work packages.
Your role will comprise leading one large project as part of a multi-stakeholder consortium focused on driving high-impact early-stage circular innovation, as well as leading Ventures’ contribution to similar but smaller project, while helping drive internal product development and commercial efforts around Metabolic Venture’s offerings.
The position is meant to be full time (5 days / week) and would ideally start in May, 2022, although exact timings are flexible and it’s possible to start in June.
