Metabolic is looking for a seasoned Project Manager with a background in sustainability consulting, someone eager to use their experience to tackle sustainability challenges. 

In this senior role, you'll be leading teams of 3-6 people. Being the main contact for clients, it's important that you feel confident taking the lead and dealing independently with external partners. Your job involves making sure the team delivers high-quality results and planning their workload effectively. Understanding sustainability and ESG reporting is crucial. You should be committed to supporting your team, ensuring they work on tasks that suit their strengths, and keeping their workload manageable. As a senior project manager, you will handle several projects simultaneously participating in business development tasks and initiatives aimed at enhancing the division's value proposition.

Key Accountabilities

• Spearhead various projects, spanning impact assessments, circularity opportunity explorations, and the development of corporate sustainability strategies.

• Manage and cultivate relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, collaborating with internal teams to drive business case development for interventions across different sectors and contexts.

• Provide mentorship, supervision, and guidance to junior and medior team members, fostering professional development and ensuring cohesive team dynamics.

• Collaborate closely with data analysts, steering their efforts and extracting meaningful insights to inform strategic project directions.

• Lead the delivery of high-impact deliverables and visuals that empower our clients to take action.

• Identify innovation opportunities during project delivery, aiming to standardize valuable insights and assets that can be incorporated into the division's service offering.

• Ensure projects follow their schedules, stay within budgets, and meet quality goals, always maintaining high standards.

• Cultivate and maintain key relationships while strategically managing partnerships to enhance project outcomes and organizational objectives.

• Engage in business development activities, including lead generation, networking, and client engagement.

Passion for sustainability, circularity, and systems change with a genuine connection to our mission.

• Proven track record with a minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience within sustainability in sectors such as electronics, manufacturing, and chemicals.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.

• Exceptional communication skills, showcasing the ability to actively listen, reason, and adeptly respond to others.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy, initiative, and understanding. 

• Hold a Master's degree in a pertinent field, such as business, environmental studies, international development, or a discipline centered around sustainability.

• Demonstrable expertise and proficiency in project management, stakeholder management and client engagement, ideally with project management certification (e.g. IPMA or PMI) 

• Knowledge of international sustainability frameworks, guidelines, and legislation, including but not limited to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, SBT, CSRD and ISSB.

• Experience with Life Cycle Assessments, impact assessments and Material Flow Analysis is a plus.
